Sunday Morning Tea

Morning tea is served on Sundays after 8.30 and 10.30 Mass in the Fellowship area. This is an opportunity for parishioners to gather in the fellowship area for a chat, over a cuppa and a snack.

It is also a great opportunity for new parishioners to meet and get to know more about the parish and its activities. There is a roster of volunteers who help to serve fellow parishioners a cuppa, often with some home-made snacks.

There are 2 special occasions during the year, viz the Lunar New Year and Sri Lankan New Year. Each of these communities puts on a spread of their special culinary delights for enjoyment of the parishioners.

We function to welcome and accept each other as Christ has welcomed and accepted each one of us. We happily welcome new volunteers who would like to join this very fulfilling Ministry. Training will be provided.

St Christopher's Tennis Club

St Christopher’s Tennis Club was founded in 1967 with opportunities for competitive and social tennis through the year. For over 40 years, many teams have represented the club, providing enjoyment and considerable success as can be seen from the many pennants on display in the clubhouse. The club has three excellent en-tout-cas courts at the far north end of the parish property behind the Hennessey Hall.

Organised social tennis is held regularly on weekend mornings from 8:30am. Currently, competition teams play on Monday and Tuesday evenings (under lights) and on Wednesday mornings, and a Pennant team plays on Saturday afternoons. Future Demand Tennis provides professional coaching services, and arranges annual Club Championship tournaments. Courts are available for members’ use at any times except when required for organised play or coaching.

New members are always welcome. There are four membership categories:

  • Senior members
  • Family members (1 or 2 seniors and 1 or more juniors)
  • Junior members (under 18 years)
  • Student members (over 18 years in full time study)

For membership fees, please contact the club. The club’s financial year runs from 1 July to 30 June. New members joining during the financial year pay pro rata for the remaining months of the year.
